New Business Space Opportunity in the Rural Community
September 13, 2016
Eckersley are delighted to announce that we have been retained by the Holker Group to market their commercial development land at Kents Bank, Grange over Sands in Cumbria. The site extents to 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres) and offers a rare and unique opportunity for local businesses to secure new floor space on either a freehold or leasehold basis. The site is being marketed with a view to securing interest from established South Lakeland businesses or new businesses seeking representation in the area. New premises will be made available on a design and build basis
Commenting on the site Victoria Taylor Lewis said, “ The site is ideal for smaller to medium size business operations requiring facilities up to 464.52 sq m ( 5,000 sq ft ). There has been a distinct lack of supply over the last decade and our clients intend to fill that gap” Timescale is, however, uncertain at the present time, as a full and comprehensive marketing campaign has only just begun and is being undertaken by Eckersley on behalf of the Holker Group.
The site is located on the western fringe of Grange over Sands on the south side of Allinthwaite Road enjoying panoramic views over the fell side and Morecambe Bay. The land at Kents Bank has been identified as both a residential and commercial development opportunity to cater for housing and business space requirements. Development will be controlled by a development brief that the Holker Group are working with South Lakeland District Council on at the present time.
The Holker Group operates under the leadership of recently appointed Chairman, Lucy Cavendish, who follows in the footsteps of her father, Lord Cavendish of Furness DL and comprises a large and ever-expanding portfolio of businesses across a wide range of industries from tourism to property management and quarrying. A dedication to investment in local communities and to conservation of the local environment are important to The Group
Holbeck Homes Limited, who are leading the proposed development at Kents Bank, was formed in the late 1960’s to undertake extensive new housing development on a large site in Barrow-in-Furness owned by the Estate/ Since then further sites have been developed including the Pedder Cottages and courtyard development at Holker main gates in 1996, and other sites at Walney, Ulverston, and Coniston. Future housing development, similar to and including that at Kents bank, on Holker land are in the planning stages, with allocations granted through 2014 Local Plan for South Lakeland.
