March 27, 2013
Eckersley, acting for Henry Davidson Developments in conjunction with UK & Maine Ltd, are pleased to report that the next phase of the development is on course for completion this Spring with the construction of 8 retail units and 30 residential apartments above, together with associated car parking and infrastructure, progressing well.
Since construction has commenced, there has been strong occupier interest with 7 of the 8 available retail units now having terms agreed. This follows the successful opening of the adjacent 3,252 sq m (35,000 sq.ft.) Tesco food store and petrol filling station.
Commercial Quarter and this first phase of retail shops will form the central hub of the Village, strategically positioned between the newly opened Buckshaw Parkway Railway Station and the 3,000 homes built to date and rising. In addition, it is estimated that the 80 acre adjacent business park will eventually accommodate approximately 377,000 sq m (4,058,028 sq ft) of commercial floorspace with a workforce of some 9000 people.
Buckshaw Village has superb motorway connections, being at the centre of the M6, M61and M65 triangle, providing easy access to the North West conurbations of Chorley, Leyland, Preston, Manchester and beyond.
